You could say that this new music from Lynda Carter is…unexpected. The multi-talented artist released a brand new EP titled Unexpected and we’re so here for it.

The five-track EP features covers of some of the most well-known songs of the 20th century, including “Take Me to the River” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”. The music is an upbeat jazz rendition of the songs and honestly? It’s a whole lot of fun.

While most of the songs are remastered from her previous work, Carter did sing “Danny’s All-Star Joint” and you can’t tell for a moment that she didn’t sing this years ago. Her voice has so much power that balances with her borderline sultry delivery in the verses. She definitely put a lot of soul into it!

You need to listen to Lynda Carter’s new EP, Unexpected!

This is Carter’s first new music since her last album, Red Rock N’ Blues, was released in 2018. Carter has actually been releasing music since 1973 with her first single, “It Might As Well Stay Monday/I Believe in Music”. Since then she has released five studio albums, four singles, and now – one EP.

Carter has been hyping up the EP’s release since June 29th and she has been excited for everyone to listen to it. After a difficult year with the loss of her husband of 37 years, she still manages to bring light into the lives of her fans. With a 17 minute playtime, you should absolutely give this a listen – you won’t regret it!
