Hallmark Channel’s Crashing Through the Snow: Synopsis, cast, how to watch
The Hallmark Channel is kicking off the holiday movie season early with the premiere of its all-new original movie Crashing Through the Snow. Debuting on July 10 at the start of their Christmas in July celebration, this holiday movie about blended families, misunderstandings and the quest to have the perfect Christmas will make you laugh, cry and want to bake cookies.
Crashing Through the Snow is a very different kind of Hallmark Christmas movie that explores the blessings and challenges of a modern blended family, but it does it with lots of love and laughter. Here’s everything you need to know!
Synopsis
Maggie and Jeff have the kind of relationship you can only dream of when it comes to formerly married couples. They’re still as close as ever because they’ve always been the best of friends, and they want their daughters to grow up in a loving environment even if they’re not together anymore.
When Jeff’s girlfriend Kate invites him and the girls to Aspen for Christmas, Maggie is supportive but she’s also struck with the idea of being away from her kids – and Jeff – for the holidays. Kate doesn’ hesitate to invite Maggie along for the trip but she doesn’t mention that they’re staying at her family’s palatial estate.
There’s unintended tension as Kate tries to create the perfect holiday, stepping on many of Maggie’s traditions, so when Kate’s brother Sam shows up unexpectedly he convinces Maggie to take a stand and try to recapture the holiday that she loves so much. A surprise catches the whole family off guard, but having Sam around makes Maggie very grateful that he’s there.
Cast
Amy Acker (The Gifted, Angel) stars as Maggie and Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black) Maggie’s ex-husband Jeff. Brooke Nevin (Jingle Around the Clock) is Jeff’s girlfriend Kate, and Warren Christie (The Village, If I Only Had Christmas) is Kate’s brother Sam.
