The noughties brought us great things like flip phones, Juicy Couture tracksuits, and Tina Fey’s decade-defining film Mean Girls. The high school drama brought us iconic quotes like “On Wednesdays, we wear pink” and “Get in loser, we’re going shopping.” Now, inspired by the Lindsay Lohan classic comes Big Potato’s new board game Mean Girls: The Party Game featuring the scandalous Burn Book.

The game is super fun and easy to play, so you don’t have to be a Mathlete to understand it. Big Potato even provides an on-point tutorial video to help you get started. The game comes with score pads, stickers, seven-colored mats, over 100 question cards for you to answer, and is perfect for groups of four or more.

To start, each player gets a page from the Burn Book where the other players will answer some pretty shocking questions about them. When each player has a page, set out one less colored mat than there are players. So if you have five players, you’ll need to place four colored mats in the center of the table.

Then you’ll set one question card on each mat. On your Burn Book page, you’ll write down your name at the top and then pass it to the left so every other player will answer questions about you. When you have a new page, you’ll pick one of the questions on the colored mats to respond to on the other player’s Burn Book about them. Once you’ve put down your anonymous answer, pass the page to the left again until all the questions on the Burn Book are complete.

Don’t pass the Burn Book page back to the original player; otherwise, you’ll spoil the surprise. Instead, place the pages upside down and different players will them out loud. If the player picks your response as their favorite, you get a point; and if they correctly guess who wrote it, you get another point which is pretty fetch.
