Huzzah! The third season of the groovy Sky original series, Britannia, will drop at the end of the summer and we couldn’t be more excited.

RadioTimes.com unveiled the Season 3 details on upcoming episodes and the air date for the return of the David Morrissey-headlined drama that centers around the epic feud between the magical Druids/Celts and the invading Romans.

Britannia is one of the coolest series around and if you haven’t caught this fascinating show—where The Walking Dead’s Morrissey gives another spellbinding performance (seriously, he delivers one of my favorite lines ever said: “I am Rome”) as Aulus Plautius—now is a great time to catch up on seasons one and two, available on both Amazon Prime and Epix.

All eight episodes of Britannia season 3 will drop on streaming service NOW and weekly episodes will air on Sky Atlantic beginning August 24th in the U.K.

Cable network EPIX came on board in the second season to take over for Amazon, which had left the project after the first season. Since EPIX originally co-produced the third season, I’m hoping that means it will premiere on the channel around the same time in the U.S.

So far there’s been no news yet on that front (keep your fingers crossed).

Britannia released a new image that puts Chosen One Cait (Eleanor Worthington-Cox)—a scene-chewing young actress—front and center in warrior garb, who will endeavor to “build a rebel alliance with a group of misfits.”

According to RadioTimes.com, a full season three description proceeds as follows:

"“Series three sees a radical transformation in Cait’s (Eleanor Worthington-Cox) journey as the Chosen One with a decision that will tie her to the future of her war-torn people and their ravaged land.Aulus (David Morrissey) comes under pressure from a new and dark force – otherwise known as his wife (Sophie Okonedo), whilst Amena finds herself in a lethal Ménage à trois with both of them. Divis gets a new job which he despises, and Veran goes to the underworld and sees the future.”"

Let’s hope there’s also more banter between Cait and the always, hilariously grumpy Divis (Nikolaj Lie Kaas). Love them.

Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo will be joining the cast for season 3 alongside returning favorites Mackenzie Crook,  the always wonderful Zoë Wanamaker (last seen in Shadow and Bone), and the fabulously coiffed Julian Rhind-Tutt. Britannia was created by Jez Butterworth (Spectre), his brother Tom Butterworth (Tin Star), and James Richardson (Bulletproof).

Britannia is a seriously underrated series in the United States. Do yourself a favor and do a deep dive into this stunning show that touches on the history of Britain, mysticism, Emperor Claudius and the Romans, and even ties it all to the rebellion of psychedelic British rock-n-roll. It is that cool. Britannia is a first-rate stunner and I for one can’t wait for its third season.
