Summer nights sparkle as Disney Parks fireworks return
While some families wake early to be part of the rope drop, the Disney Parks fireworks have been a kiss goodnight tradition since 1957. As the beloved theme parks see a return to a semblance of normalcy, the Disney Parks fireworks will be illuminating the night sky once again. Ready to wish upon that firecracker star?
In a recent announcement on the Disney Parks blog, both the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland park in California will see fireworks return starting in July. Walt Disney World brings back fireworks on July 1 and California sees the spectacle on July 4.
For many people both in and near the park look to the night sky for those colorful moments. While many people close out their day watching Cinderella’s Castle transform into a sparkling Happily Ever After and others gaze upon the World Showcase to see Epcot Forever, the reality is that fireworks are part of that Disney magic that guest crave.
And, for Disney fans who are missing their happy place, the virtual viewing of Happily Ever After is available online. Additional live streams will be available via the Disney Parks Blog this summer.
Besides Disney Parks fireworks, what other items have returned this summer?
While vaccinated guests have been able to let their smiles be seen without the mask barrier, that change isn’t the only noticeable difference beyond the turnstiles. In addition to larger crowds, some of the social distancing has changed.
Many of the ride barriers, like the plexiglass dividers, have been taken down. While these items might not seem like a huge change, it is a welcome sight for many guests.
The same can be said for the return of the pre-show elements to rides. When the Haunted Mansion stretches once again, all is right with the world. Although, a few guests would love to see the return of the Fast Pass.
As seen around the Disney Parks, many people are ready to get out of the house and have some fun. Although no specific comments on park capacity levels are available, it is apparent that more people are enjoying that flight on Soaring, the exploration on safari or even that relaxing day at Blizzard Beach.
Although many Disney “normals” have returned, the next step will be the return of RunDisney and Disney cruises. Soon Disney fans will have all of their magical memories at their fingertips.
