Mindy Kaling’s romantic comedy series that centers around a young Indian girl in high school is back for season two and just released a Never Have I Ever trailer that demonstrates just how fun this show is.

Never Have I Ever Season two finds teenager Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) at a crossroads about her boyfriend situation, mulling over the choice between original crush: the popular and very handsome Paxton, or her frenemy: her intellectual equal, Ben. Her feelings for Ben were the big surprise at the end of the first season, complicating her developing relationship with Paxton, the original boy she lusted after.

So, in full Devi fashion, she has enlisted her friends Fabiola and Eleanor (so glad the three of them made up at the end of S1) to help her choose so she can have a chance at “having an American boyfriend” before her mom drags her back to India, where she hopes Devi can benefit from more positive influences and a family support network.

In the trailer Devi is going over the pros and cons of each boyfriend with Fabiola and Eleanor, but concludes that she can juggle them both! Of course Devi impulsively thinks this. After all, it’s just for the year before she has to say goodbye to the life she’s known as an immigrant in America. “So, you’re saying I should just have two boyfriends?” Devi asks her friends.

What could possibly go wrong? Devi is all confidence, but as usual, Fabiola and Eleanor are not so sure. The truth will probably land somewhere in between.

But there’s also a new wrinkle in Devi’s life. Just when she’s hatched her brilliant new plan, a new Indian girl enters the high school scene, in Devi’s homeroom class. And she’s gorgeous. The arrival of the new student opens up all kinds of insecurities on Devi’s part, likely to force her into a series of mistakes inspired by a renewed lack of confidence that the new girl is sure to stir up. The drama never does seem to end for Devi.

Can Devi overcome her self-doubt and manage her dual boyfriend dilemma (nice problem to have)?

The second season for Never Have I Ever, created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, will drop on Netflix July 15.

In additional to Ramakrishnan, Never Have I Ever also features Darren Barnet, Ramona Young , Lee Rodriguez, Jaren Lewison, Poonam Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Rushi Kota, Niecy Nash in a wonderful cast that is a testament to diverse talent.

What I love about the series is how it defies stereotypes while embodying a sheer positivity throughout. In the first season, Devi dealt with the death of her father, a painful loss that manifested in many ways as Devi butted heads with her judgmental, but caring mom (Jagannathan), her rival Ben (Lewison), and complications with friends Eleanor (Young) and Fabiola (Rodriguez).

Never Have I Ever Season two will pick up right where things were left in S1, with that revealing kiss between Devi and Ben.

My question is, will we finally get a cameo from Kaling herself this season?
