This Halloween, The Muppets will be celebrating the spooktacular holiday for the first time ever with a brand new special episode set at Disney’s famed Haunted Mansion. The special, simply titled Muppets Haunted Mansion will be filled with popular Muppets stars, celebrity cameos, new music, and an enjoyable spooky time fun for all ages.

Available exclusively on Disney+ this fall, Muppets Haunted Mansion will be part of the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products ‘Halfway To Halloween” Event celebration.  This will be the first-ever Halloween special that will star The Muppets.

The official Disney + description is as follows:

"“Muppets Haunted Mansion” takes place on Halloween night, when Gonzo is challenged to spend one very daring night in the most grim-grinning place on earth: The Haunted Mansion.  A star-studded Muppets cast, celebrity cameos, all-new music and spooky fun for families to enjoy together.”"

To announce the special event, Muppet friends Gonzo and Pepe the King Prawn were featured in a ‘haunting’ video, uploaded by the official Muppets YouTube channel.

Gonzo will spend Halloween night at The Haunted Mansion and will likely experience an unforgettable holiday.  Surely, he will encounter lots of ‘fear and fright’ as long there is fun involved.

Disney Plus archived all five seasons (with some limitations) of the 1970s The Muppet Show to stream on the platform last February, along with the newer six-episode comedy, Muppets Now last summer.  The latter is a more updated version of the classic show.

In 2004, Disney acquired the Muppets and their characters on an undisclosed deal but has partnered with The Jim Hanson Company previously.  One such example is Muppet Treasure Island-released in 1996.  Under its new ownership, Disney released two Muppets featured films, rebranded the Muppet Babies while keeping the original elements, and implementing the characters throughout major Disney mediums.
