Hallmark Channel is heading to Oz in its new original film Hearts Down Under, which is part of the Crown network’s Spring Fling programming. The movie will premiere on Hallmark Channel on April 24 at 9pm ET/PT.

Cindy Busby (Love in the Forecast) plays Caroline and Tim Ross (Wonderland) brings Simon to life in this charming tale of two people who start out as enemies but become something so much more.

Hearts Down Under synopsis

Here’s the official synopsis of Hearts Down Under: “New York restaurateur Caroline inherits a café in Lemon Myrtle Cove, Australia. While there, she starts falling for the place and its people, particularly Simon, the café’s charming local chef.”

There’s nothing like a good fish out of water story. Caroline, a New Yorker, isn’t ready for the small town ambiance of Lemon Myrtle Cove. Simon thinks he has Caroline pegged, but when they’re forced to work together they both see that they might have more in common than they realized.

Hearts Down Under was filmed on location in Australia, giving the movie an authentic charm. It’s always fun when Hallmark movies are set in other countries. Fellow Spring Fling movie As Luck Would Have It was filmed in Ireland and the setting was so pivotal that it became a character itself. Let’s hope that as we move from spring to summer (and as COVID-19 filming restrictions start to ease up) there will be more movies set in exciting new places.

How to watch Hearts Down Under

The movie debuts at 9pm ET on Saturday, April 24, on the Hallmark Channel. It will repeat several times throughout the weekend and during the week. After a period of time it will become available on Hallmark Movies Now, Crown Media’s streaming service.
