When it comes to drama and ridiculousness, we all know that Riverdale delivers. And in their mid-season finale it’s a prison break we have on our hands. Of course, we already know that Hiram Lodge is behind this latest fiasco, but now the question is what comes next.

Not only did he basically send prisoners after Riverdale High School and the remaining parents there, but this prison break also led to a few other notable characters making return appearances. From Charles and Chic creating an awkward Cooper family reunion happen to Penelope Blossom showing up in time for a Thorn Hill fire prayer session, this episode of Riverdale was as wild as you might expect.

And sure, we can discuss Betty embracing her dark side or Archie fighting off men with guns and a machete in the halls of the high school all we want, but the real question is what happens next.

Now that Hiram Lodge has created havoc and even more danger in Riverdale, what comes next? How do the people of Riverdale handle a massive prison break and the damage that we expect to see from this attempt to destroy the town for good?

Riverdale has a Hiram Lodge problem

Since the very beginning of the series, Riverdale has had a Hiram Lodge problem. And they haven’t really done anything about it. Instead, he has been allowed to destroy the town, unincorporate it, and basically turn the place into a cesspool of despair and violence.

With his latest decision to release violent criminals into the world in an effort to destroy the town once and for all, it feels like maybe it’s time for the people of Riverdale to actually step up and put a stop to this man’s madness.

While there was a lot that happened in this episode, appropriately titled The Pincushion Man, the main focus of what went down really feels like it was on Hiram and his destruction. And what’s more destructive than blowing a hole in a prison and letting violent individuals out into the world?
