Lucifer cast celebrates last days filming the popular Netflix series
Lucifer still has a full season and a half to go on Netflix before the show bows, but the Lucifer cast is celebrating the series as they reach the end of filming on the beloved series.
Thanks to the pandemic, work stopped on the second half of Lucifer season 5, and while post-production is underway on 5B the cast has been hard at work filming Lucifer season 6. As of this writing, there is no planned release date for Lucifer season 5 part two, but there’s every reason to believe that it will be along soon.
It feels strange seeing their posts about their final days on set, knowing that there is so much more to come, but for the cast it’s the end of an era and they want to share it with fans.
Lucifer cast shares images, message from last days on set
Lesley-Ann Brandt shared an image of Maze and Lucifer (Tom Ellis) after their final scene together. “It’s raw and straight from the heart,” she notes.
DB Woodside, who portrays Amenadiel, shared a fan-made video featuring his character’s best moments. He thanks the fans for their support, noting that “we’re going out the way we wanted. And it’s all because of YOU.”
He also shared a photo from his directorial debut on the show:
Kevin Alejandro, who directed the penultimate episode of the season, shared a picture that a fan dug up from the very beginning of the series. It features a very young Scarlett Estevez and Lauren German.
Estevez brought things full circle when she shared a moment with Alejandro from the last days on set. “It’s the end of the road,” she wrote.
The Lucifer cast has been on quite a journey since the show’s cancellation on FOX and resurrection on Netflix after a worldwide effort to save the show. The show was only supposed to receive one more season – season 4 – but after that season’s unexpectedly impressive debut on the streaming platform it earned two more seasons.
Though the cast is sad to see the show go, it looks like they’re celebrating the fact that they were able to end on their own terms and that’s ultimately what’s important.
