The Zack Snyder hype machine continues to plow along ahead of the March 18 release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max.

In addition to a plethora of micro-teasers designed to highlight some of the plot points, like the all-important Mother Box, new character teasers offer a glimpse into Snyder’s vision for the movie and the potential behind the cinematic universe he’d been building.

As of this writing, three character portraits have been released: Batman, Superman and Aquaman. All three feature new footage from the upcoming movie.

Snyder is being praised on social media for hyping the Snyder Cut more than Warner Bros is, which makes sense since the whole project is something of a mea culpa on Warner Bros’ part. These days they’re atoning for botching Snyder’s vision for the film when they allowed Joss Whedon to change it so dramatically, while also denying that a “Snyder Cut” even existed when it clearly did.

Should Zack Snyder’s Justice League prove to be a success, it will lead to some difficult decisions down the line when fans call for more.

New teasers for Zack Snyder’s Justice League tease more than the movie

During his recent appearance at IGN Fan Fest, Snyder hinted that he’d been planning two more movies when he created Justice League, but the odds of those movies being made are slim now that the studio is moving in a new direction.

However, these teasers suggest that there are more stories to be told for Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Jason Momoa is already attached to another Aquaman movie, and Affleck will appear in The Flash. Cavill has always said he wants to return to Superman but there are no plans for another Cavill-led movie in place.

Seeing Cavill in a black Superman suit has fans clamoring for more, and it’s insane to think Warner Bros would turn their back on so much potential.

If things were different, Snyder would likely be developing new movies for all of these characters in the universe he started building in Man of Steel and continued in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Warner Bros would be foolish to close the door on possible future endeavors (assuming the cast is interested and able to return) with Snyder at the helm, but it sounds like this would be a long shot given their history.

As a fan, I really hope that Snyder has a chance to bring his sequel ideas to life. I want to see his universe come together because I believe in the story he was telling and I want to know how it all ends. Though the odds are against a future for Snyder’s version of the DCEU, these days I’ve learned that you never say never.
