Saturday Night Live has been on a roll with hosts this year, featuring the likes of John Krasinski, Regina King, and Daniel Levy since 2021 began. And the most recent episode saw Regé-Jean Page, best known for his role in Netflix’s Bridgerton, hosting SNL for the first time — and even poking fun at the historical romance series so many viewers have come to love.

In an SNL skit, Page recreated some of the show’s scenes with  Chloe Fineman playing Daphne Bridgerton — and of course, the show had to wonder what would happen if the intimacy coordinators contracted COVID and needed to be replaced.

The two guys set to coordinate the steamy scene between Page and Fineman are clearly not equipped for the job, leading to all kinds of hilarious suggestions. I mean, green-screening a guy’s nipples would totally make the scene acceptable for any network, no?

Watch Saturday Night Live’s Bridgerton skit here:

After suggesting some way-too-raunchy details for the sex scene, Page and the others send the two men away, but thanks to the super-spreader event, they come back to replace more on-set personalities. In this day and age, the moment is sadly a bit relatable. When it comes to COVID-19 discussions, SNL has been going in on the ways some people have chosen to handle the virus.

It wasn’t just the Bridgerton skit that left viewers praising Page’s hosting stint, either. The actor also got the chance to sing during the show’s “Drivers License” sketch, something that left the internet swooning even more than Netflix’s hit series.

It’s not every day we get to see the SNL host burst into song, but we can’t complain when it does happen.
