WandaVision has spent the majority of its time suggesting that Wanda is the one solely responsible for what’s happening in Westview, but this week’s episode of the Disney+ series threw a couple of wrenches into that argument.

With two major reveals — one during the episode and one during the show’s first post-credits scene — Marvel has overturned everything fans thought they knew about this story. (And really, were we ever convinced we knew what was happening to begin with?)

“Breaking the Fourth Wall” did exactly what its title suggests, having the characters admit what they do and don’t know about the events of the series and pulling back the curtain on some of the developments kept in the dark until now.

So, what were some of the wackiest moments from the newest episode of WandaVision?

Wanda losing control

This week’s Modern Family-inspired episode of WandaVision opens with Wanda announcing that she needs a staycation. “We’ve all been there, right?” she asks the audience, basically admitting that expanding the borders of her false reality has worn her out. And who can blame her for that?

What’s so wacky about Wanda’s lack of energy, however, is that it seems to be impacting everything around her. Objects in her house start shifting, blurring the lines between the sitcom decades the series has covered so far. It’s a bizarre yet effective way of showing that Wanda is losing control of her power — and that could prove a problem considering what happens at the end of the episode.

A road trip of sorts

When Vision wakes up from his near-fatal trip outside of Westview, he runs into Darcy Lewis, who has been sucked into the hex and is now part of the circus. After bringing Darcy out of the stupor most Westview residents are kept in, the two grab a van and attempt to head home to Wanda — except, it seems someone doesn’t want Vision returning home.

Everything from red lights to construction to children crossing the road prevents the van from reaching its destination. Of course, all these wacky obstacles give Marvel fans some long-awaited comedic moments between Vision and Darcy before he realizes he can simply fly home.

Monica’s powers

Monica Rambeau and Agent Woo are determined to get back into the Hex, both to save the people there and to talk Wanda down from what she’s doing. Unfortunately, their original plan involving Monica driving a military-grade vehicle straight through the Hex doesn’t work — but Monica is able to push through the barriers anyway, likely changing her molecular coding yet again.

And when Monica reaches Westview, it’s with blue eyes and supernatural powers — powers she hasn’t truly tested as of yet. They help her stand against an attack from Wanda later on though, suggesting they’ll play a greater role in the series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We can’t complain about that development.

Agatha all along

WandaVision fans have long wondered why Agnes seems immune to whatever spell Wanda has placed on Westview, and “Breaking the Fourth Wall” gives an answer: Wanda isn’t the only witch in town.

Just as many theorized, Agnes has powers of her own — and she’s been manipulating Wanda the entire time she’s been here. The final moments of the episode feature a fun song that highlights the fact that it was “Agatha all along.” Whether that means Agnes is the one responsible for the sorry state of affairs in Westview remains to be seen — but it does suggest Wanda and Vision have a major villain to contend with in the coming installments.

Pietro — or is he?

WandaVision hasn’t given fans any post-credit scenes in previous episodes, but this week changes that. Following the credits, Monica goes looking for Wanda, leading her to Agnes’ creepy basement. It seems like Monica might be able to save the day before Pietro shows up and knocks her out. So, is Pietro under Agnes’ control or is he an active player in her plans?

Either way, the scene proves the two of them have been working together against Wanda. And that’s a duo that’s going to be difficult to beat without combining Wanda, Vision, and Monica’s powers, as well as Darcy’s smarts. Luckily, they’re all on the same side of the Hex.
