Little Archie is going to be a big brother! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they’re expecting a second child on Valentine’s Day, the most love-centric day of the year.

In an announcement first reported by People, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared an intimate black and white photo taken remotely by friend and photographer Misan Harriman with an iPad.

Markle appears to be around four or five months into her pregnancy in the sweet photo, and both parents are aglow with the big news. She is also wearing the same Carolina Herrera dress she did when she was first pregnant with Archie back in 2019.

This will be the second child for Harry and Meghan, with two-year-old Archie Harrison being the first. Last year, the couple formally stepped down as senior royals so they could transition into a private life and focus on their family.

When the the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic hit, the desire for family time only intensified, with the two more eager to create memories and watch Archie grow up. Appearing on the Today Show, Prince Harry spoke about celebrating the little moments with your family:

"“There’s a hell of a lot of positives that are happening at the same time and being able to have family time — so much family time — that you almost think, ‘Do I feel guilty for having so much family time? You’ve got to celebrate those moments where you are just on the floor rolling around in hysterics. Inevitably, half an hour later, maybe a day later, there’s going to be something that you have to deal with and there’s no way you can run away from it.”"

Meghan enjoys being a mother and embraces the role in “a chilled and relaxed manner” a friend shared when celebrating Archie’s first birthday last May. The family kept the celebration low-key with a home-baked cake and Zoom calls.

And if the announcement was any sweeter, it was 37 years ago to the day where Princess Diana announced to the world that she was pregnant with Harry. It is no secret that Harry adored and loved his mother, and he kept her memory alive by sharing his news.
