PassionFlix Driven Series: 5 questions with Olivia Applegate

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Olivia Applegate as Rylee in the PassionFlix adaptation of K. Bromberg’s Driven Series. The second and third seasons filmed in 2020 and season 2, Fueled, is due this spring. It’s the first time fans will see Applegate starring with the new Colton Donavan, played by Michael Roark.

If behind the scenes photos and exclusive images in the Driven 2021 calendar (that keeps selling out) are any indication, there’s no question that Applegate and Roark have incredible chemistry and it’s going to be a real treat to see them bring Rylee and Colton to life on screen.

We had a chance to chat with Olivia Applegate about working with Roark, filming during the pandemic and her vision for an ideal Valentine’s Day.

Interview with Olivia Applegate, star of the PassionFlix Driven Series

(Culturess) What’s one thing that Michael does that always makes you laugh?

(Olivia Applegate) Bear paw hands! 

How do you approach playing Rylee? Is there anything you did to help you prepare for the role?

To prepare for Rylee, I reread all of the books (so fun!) which feel almost like a cheat sheet. They tell you everything Rylee is thinking and feeling. I just had to do exactly what the book told me to do!

What was it like getting to know Michael, filming in the middle of a pandemic and filming two seasons of a series back to back? What was the experience like?

Getting to know Michael was a total pleasure. He is such a supportive co-star and I felt like we were a real team. This was invaluable because block shooting (which means we shot everything out of order) two seasons back to back during a pandemic is the hardest job I’ve ever done! That being said, I think the difficulty of the shoot brought us all closer together.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of Rylee and Colton’s love story, Is there anything you can tease about season 2, and do you have a message for fans as they count down the days until the premiere?

I’m counting down the days to the premiere, too! I can’t wait to see these stories brought to life. Buckle up because it’s going to be a wild ride.

You’ve been busy bringing Rylee and Colton’s over the top love story to life…what’s your ideal way to celebrate Valentine’s Day?

I’m a pretty simple gal. I like a lazy day filled with good food and quality time with the man I love (and maybe sunset at the beach)
