Tom Austen
Like so many of the men on this list, Tom Austen’s name came up several times and like Charlie Hunnam, he checks most of the boxes in the quest to find the perfect Jesse Ward, though he’s only 32. What makes him perfect, though, is the “audition” he gave during his performance on The Royals.
One of my guiltiest guilty pleasures a few years back was E!’s The Royals. Of all the characters on the show, it was Austen’s Jasper Frost and his forbidden relationship with Princess Eleanor that drew me in. Jasper was a con man, masquerading as a security guard to pull off the ultimate heist. He ultimately falls in love with Eleanor, but before their true romance can come to the fore they enter into a BDSM-inspired relationship where Jasper is suddenly dominating the princess and she realizes it’s exactly what she needs to get her life back into balance.
Austen has the look, the accent and the ability to be moody and broody. If Austen can channel his smoldering Jasper energy into Jesse Ward, well, that will be something to see.
