Ryan Reynolds is trying to make the most of staying home during the pandemic with the debut of a new Snapchat series, Ryan Doesn’t Know. The teeny tiny silver lining in being stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic has been that all over the world there are celebrities and athletes doing the same things we’re all doing, and that includes learning new things. In this case, Reynolds set out to “learn a little about a lot.”

Ryan Doesn’t Know debuted on January 30 under Snapchat’s Snap Originals platform. The series is produced by Westbrook Media in conjunction with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company.

Westbrook Media president Brad Haugen noted that working with Reynolds was a lot of fun. “Ryan is one of the funniest people out there and watching him connect with and learn from these unbelievably talented creatives is a true joy,” he said in a press release.

When it comes to learning new things, it looks like Ryan Doesn’t Know is more about the journey than the destination.

The 12-episode series will follow Reynolds’ many adventures as he learns new skills or learns more about things he didn’t know before. In the promotional video he’s seen carving ice sculptures with a chainsaw, which he says is a bad idea for any card carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild.

In the trailer, Reynolds outlines his expectations for the series with his trademark wit and dry humor. “You could fill a gymnasium with all the things I don’t know. So, in the hopes of becoming a less boring husband and father, I’m meeting up with talented new artists to learn a little about a lot.”

He’s seen arranging flowers, throwing axes and trying to give maximum effort to all of his new hobbies even though he knows “whatever [he does] is going to suck.”

Given that Reynolds is raising three daughters with Blake Lively, having all of these skills won’t hurt. Knowing how to paint fingernails or arrange flowers will likely come in handy at some point, if for no other reason than being a cool party trick for his girls’ friends later in life.

Ryan Doesn’t Know is available now on Snapchat.
