Weston McKennie celebrated a goal with a quick spell!

Turns out Weston McKennie’s soccer skills aren’t the only magical thing about him!
The 22-year old midfielder for Juventus busted out the Harry Potter inspired celebration after scoring a goal off a header in their match against Bologna. McKennie ran to the sideline and imitated casting a spell with an imaginary wand.
McKennie explained after the match to DAZN that he’s such a big Potter fan, he decided to get a quick reminder on his finger.
“I am actually a big Harry Potter fan, I have a tattoo on my hand, so it was a magic spell,” McKennie said.
The Little Elm, TX product is a rising star in the world of soccer, having joined Serie A club Juventus back in August and already having an immediate impact, notching three goals and two assists in 16 matches. He will be a major part of the U.S. National team, who will look to make some noise when the World Cup comes to America in 2026.
McKennie isn’t the only sports star to be featuring the world of Harry Potter. Dallas Stars goalie Anton Khudobin, who’s nickname is “Dobby”, showed off his new mask that features the house elf Dobby with a cowboy hat on and green eyes, with him reaching for his hockey stick where a gun would normally be. Like his other masks, the word “Dobby” is written across the front of the mask.
Back when Khudobin was 17 years old, Alexander Radulov gave him the nickname Dobby. Now the two are both on the Stars, and Khudobin was showered with chants of the nickname in the Stars season open, where he clinched a shutout victory as the Stars crushed the Nashville Predators, 7-0.
The world of Harry Potter is still very near and dear to fans, and the sports figures showed off their own fandom in their own unique ways.
