WandaVision’s second episode is almost as cute and comical as the series premiere — but there are some eerie moments mixed in.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the first two episodes of WandaVision.

Marvel’s WandaVision debuted on Disney+ this past Friday with not one, but two, episodes for fans to enjoy — and things just got wackier by the minute. Although both episodes have a charming sense of fun and romance about them, there’s no denying that the “real world” is starting to seep into this fantasy Wanda is trapped in during the show’s second installment.

And the mix of sitcom-based fantasy and reality makes for a jarring and bizarre addition to this series. It also sparked numerous questions the show will have to answer as it moves forward, since right now, fans mostly just have theories and comic storylines to go on.

So, what were the wackiest WandaVision moments from episode two and what could they mean for the series going forward?

The helicopter

The first two episodes of WandaVision pay homage to sitcoms from the ’50s and ’60s, so naturally, they’re in black and white. It seems the characters see the world this way too, because Wanda is about as surprised as the audience when she finds a colorful toy helicopter in the bushes by her new home.

The appearance of the helicopter — and Wanda’s unsettling reaction to it — is strange enough, but the fact that Wanda and Vision were up all night hearing noises above their home suggests there’s more to this helicopter than meets the eye.

Could this helicopter represent a real helicopter controlled by the Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division (SWORD), as some fans have already guessed? It would certainly be an interesting way of tying SWORD and SHIELD into the MCU.

The radio message

The second episode of WandaVision  begins to break the barriers between whatever world Wanda and Vision are “living” in and the real one — and that goes far beyond the helicopter. At one point, when Wanda is helping with a fundraiser event, a radio message comes through, with someone asking, “Wanda, who’s doing this to you?”

It’s unclear where the signal is coming from or who is speaking, but it could very well be someone we’ve met already. Sam Wilson? Doctor Strange? Agent Woo? The possibilities are endless, but clearly someone is trying to drag Wanda back to reality.

The fact that the town organizer, Dottie, is also alarmed by the message also begs the questions of who the people living in this fantasy alongside Wanda and Vision really are and what their roles will be moving forward. And speaking of the people in Wanda and Vision’s new town…

Geraldine’s introduction

Wanda makes a new friend during the most recent episode, a woman named Geraldine. The thing is, Teyonah Parris — who portrays “Geraldine” — was actually revealed to be playing another character leading up to the show’s premiere: Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Captain Marvel’s closest friend, Maria. She would be all grown up by this point, but what is she doing in Westview? And with a different name no less?

There are two possibilities here. Either Monica has been dragged into this bizarre world of Wanda’s against her will — meaning Captain Marvel is likely to swoop in at some point — or Monica knows what’s going on and is attempting to get close to Wanda and help.

The latter option would make sense of the fact that Geraldine took such a quick liking to Wanda. Still, she did seem a tad surprise to wind up in a magic cabinet by the end of the episode. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly what Parris’ character knows.

Vision’s “drunken” antics

Moving away from the eerily strange and into the fun-filled nonsense category for a moment, finding out what happens when Vision swallows something like a piece of gum is a wacky but appreciated addition to the second episode. Vision has always been such a serious and powerful character during his time in the MCU, so it’s nice to see him out of control for a change.

It also leads to some hilarious moments during his and Wanda’s magic show performance. These comical instances are both refreshing and entertaining, and they’ll no doubt add some levity to what’s sure to be a suspenseful (and potentially very emotional) story as the series continues.

The Beekeeper

The strangest moment of all arrives at the end of WandaVision‘s second episode, right after Wanda and Vision discover they’re supposedly having a baby. The two hear a noise and discover a beekeeper emerging from a manhole outside their home. It’s probably the creepiest moment of the whole episode, and viewers probably found themselves relieved when Wanda simply said, “No,” and turned back time to avoid the disruption.

People, of course, have theories about who the beekeeper is and what their role in the greater MCU might be, but this moment also raises the question of how much control Wanda has over this strange world. The voice on the radio asked Wanda who was doing this to her…but perhaps she’s the one doing this to everyone else.
