Sex and the City is the latest series being rebooted by HBO Max. Here’s what we know.

HBO Max just launched last year, but it’s already promised to return subscribers to some of their favorite fictional stories, with everything from a Gossip Girl reboot to a modern reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to a Friends reunion planned for the streamer. And the platform has announced that it will reboot another classic and beloved series: Sex and the City.

The revival will follow the characters in their 50s, bringing an all-new chapter of their lives to the small screen. If you’ve ever thought about what happened to Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda, this will be your opportunity to find out. Per Variety, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all reprising their roles, but Kim Cattrall won’t be returning — meaning Samantha will be absent from this story.

The Sex and the City reboot will consist of 10 episodes, each clocking in at around 30 minutes. There’s no tentative release date for the project just yet, but production is expected to start this spring. HBO Max has dubbed the series “And Just Like That…,” alluding to the continuation of the characters’ journeys.

All three returning cast members shared a teaser for the revival to their Instagram accounts, which you can watch below:

Although the teaser doesn’t reveal much, it does allude to more adventures around New York City — something many of us could use after the past year. And after 17 years without an episode of Sex and the City, it’ll be nice to catch up with our favorite ladies again — even if they are at very different points in their lives this time around.
