Introducing the cast of Netflix’s new series Bridgerton
Netflix’s Bridgerton, premieres on Christmas Day. Here’s a “who’s who” of the cast so that you can be ready to obsess over them after watching.
Period drama Bridgerton arrives on Netflix on Christmas Day. Based on a bestselling series of historical romance novels by author Julia Quinn and the first Netflix offering from Scandal mastermind Shonda Rhimes, it features a Regency-era plot full of attractive leads, scandalous gossip, and swoony romance.
With the series’ release looming just around the corner, so we’ve put together a guide to the main cast of the new series. (Because you’ll definitely want to know who they are afterward.
Some of these faces you might recognize from previous television or theatre work, but many will likely be new to you (especially to American audiences less familiar with British television), and there’s one voice you’ll certainly recognize.
Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Bridgerton
The show’s leading lady is played by Phoebe Dynevor. Dynevor is a young English actress who has appeared on British television shows like Waterloo Road, The Muskateers, and Dickensian. She has been seen more recently on Snatch and Younger.

Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton
English actor Jonathan Bailey is portraying the eldest Bridgerton sibling. Bailey has appeared in films like Testament of Youth and The Mercy as well as television shows including Campus, Leonardo, Broadchurch, and Crashing. He even guested on an episode of Doctor Who.

Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton
Luke Newton plays the younger Bridgerton brother, Colin.

Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton
English actress Claudia Jessie plays Eloise, one of the Bridgerton sisters. Jessie has an impressive background in television work and recently played Amelia in the Vanity Fair miniseries.
You might also recognize her from playing Doris in Lone Scherfig’s film, Their Finest.
Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton
The youngest Bridgerton, Hyacinth, is played by Florence Hunt. This is the young British actress’s second role, after playing young Nimue in Netflix’s Cursed series. You can follow Hunt on Instagram.
Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton
Ruth Gemmell plays Lady Violet Bridgerton, the matriarch of the family. Gemmell’s career has spanned film, television, and theatre including roles on Utopia and Home Fires.
In 1997, she played opposite Colin Firth in Fever Pitch.
