Julianna Margulies joins the cast of The Morning Show season 2

Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated drama The Morning Show adds another powerhouse actress to its roster for season 2: Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies.
Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show has added another powerhouse actress to its already impressive roster: Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies.
The former The Good Wife star will join the cast in the recurring role of Laura Peterson, the newest anchor at UBA News, the larger network division which the fictional The Morning Show
Most recently, Margulies starred in the first season of the National Geographic Channel anthology series Hot Zone and had a recurring role on season 5 of Billions.
She joins returning cast members Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, as well as Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, and more.
Not much is known about the character or the role, but we can assume that Margulies character is meant to be part of the network’s efforts at damage control necessitated by the events of the season 1 finale, in which Morning Show co-hosts Alex Levy (Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon) reported on network head Fred Micklen’s attempt to silence women who accused UBA employees of sexual harassment inappropriate conduct.
The Morning Show season 2 will also reportedly tackle the coronavirus pandemic, its impact on the news industry and, ostensibly, New York City itself. (Several of its second season episodes were apparently rewritten to reflect this shift.) Season 2 resumed production in October.

The actress is not the only new star joining The Morning Show. In addition to Margulies, the show previously announced that Russian Doll Greta Lee and The Spanish Princess star Ruairi O’Connor will take on the roles of two new characters, Stella Bak and Ty Fitzgerald, respectively.
