Fans question J.K. Rowling’s support of shop known to sell transphobic merchandise.

J.K. Rowling cannot stop doubling down on her anti-trans remarks and now she’s supporting shops with transphobic merchandise.

Rowling has taken to showing her support for an anti-trans shop by sharing a shirt she bought that reads “This witch doesn’t burn”. It’s extremely hard to not look at this and see Rowling crying out as a “victim” when she is the one putting an entire community of people in danger with her words.

The shirt in question has the gender symbol for female on it with the writing and honestly, why?

As fans were quick to point out, the shop is known to carry transphobic merchandise. This constant need for Rowling to remind the world that she is not in support of the trans community shows that she doesn’t care about those she’s hurting with her words. She cares about herself and sticking to what she thinks is her truth.

It is sadly another reason why it’s important to talk about Rowling and why she’s a danger to the trans community. She has a platform (and still a large one at that) and using it to be harmful rather than lift others up shows that her dedication to this “stance” is for herself, not the benefit of anyone else.

So this latest twist of the knife from Rowling just continues to confirm one thing: We have to stop supporting her in every way we can. You already own the Harry Potter books and movies? Fine that’s already said and done with but no more buying her stuff, no going to the parks, and actually start showing our support for the trans community that Rowling is so determined to harm with her words. Make sure to donate to trans organizations if you can.
