Although there’s a reason to love (and hate) every Star Trek show, in honor of Star Trek Day on September 8, we’re ranking of every series in the iconic franchise.

September 8 marks the 54th anniversary of the first time Star Trek: The Original Series graced television screens across America and began what would go on to become a global phenomenon spanning decades and creating one of the most well-loved cultural touchstones of its time.

For over 50 years, Star Trek has maintained a dedicated fanbase and a solid place in pop culture due to its massive expanded universe full of iconic characters, starships, and universes. From Vulcans to Klingons and every species in between, there’s something for everyone to love about Star Trek — and a half dozen different shows that have spawned since the original premiered.

However, not all Star Trek shows are created equal, and inevitably, as more and more Trek has been produced, comparisons and discussions over which show is the best have arisen. Although we can’t claim to be the end-all-be-all when it comes to Star Trek knowledge, we’ve got our own (possibly controversial) rankings of every Trek show. And in honor of Star Trek day, we’ve made a list of the franchise’s series from best to worst.
