The Walking Dead: World Beyond gets new premiere date and trailer at Comic-Con@Home
By Sonya Iryna
The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s new premiere date was announced at Comic-Con@Home, alongside the release of an exciting new trailer for the upcoming spin-off series.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond was supposed to premiere directly after The Walking Dead season 10 finale last spring, but both were put off when the finale couldn’t be finished due to production pauses caused by the health crisis. But at Comic-Con@Home, it was announced that The Walking Dead season 10 finale would air on October 4, and that the first episode of World Beyond would premiere immediately afterward.
World Beyond is unique in The Walking Dead universe because the protagonists of the story are teenagers who grew up in the apocalypse world, but in a safe community in Nebraska. The danger of walkers, other survivors, and all the hazards in the apocalypse world are still theoretical to them, but it won’t remain that way for long.
Along with the premiere date of October 4, a new trailer was released for World Beyond, showing fans a world that is both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Or maybe in some ways too familiar. It’s always going to be disconcerting to see what looks like the world that fans already know filled with walkers.

The show will also provide a little more insight into the mysterious CRM and what their ultimate goal could be. Look for clues that will provide more context about the group and hint at their ultimate mission throughout season one of World Beyond.
What You Need to Know
In order to understand how World Beyond fits into The Walking Dead universe you should know that World Beyond is set almost exactly 10 years from the start of the flagship show. That means that TWD and World Beyond are about at the same place in terms of the timeline. While Rick and the beloved survivors have been struggling to stay alive, the survivors in World Beyond have been living between thick walls and gates in relative safety.
Another thing that you should know ahead of time is the structure of the show. Hope and Iris, the main protagonists of the story, are the children of a prominent researcher. Their father became a type of surrogate to Felix, who is looking out for the girls because their real father is gone on an assignment and left the girls in the community. Huck is Felix’s friend and partner in crime. Huck is also a sort of mentor to Hope, who butts heads with Felix often.
The relationships are complicated, of course, and they’re only going to get more complicated when the kids start their mission, which will be revealed in the series premiere of The Walking Dead World Beyond on October 4.
