Recent reports suggest that WandaVision, one of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, will resume filming in July.

As cities around the globe begin loosening the restrictions put in place due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis, movie and television lovers can expect to hear about production resuming over the next few months. The majority of films and series were forced to put filming on hold due to the pandemic, but as things begin reopening, Hollywood is expected to find a way to resume filming within the “new normal.”

And a new report suggests one of Disney+’s most-anticipated Marvel series may be picking back up with filming soon. WandaVision, which was originally expected to debut on the platform at the end of the year — and still may deliver on that promise — is said to be continuing filming in July, at least if Tampa Bay Comic Convention’s report turns out to be true.

The event posted to its official Facebook page, stating that Paul Bettany, who will reprise his role as Vision in the series, wouldn’t be able to fulfill his guest appearance “due to being called back by Disney for WandaVision filming in July in Los Angeles.”

We finally received word from Paul Bettany's representation, and unfortunately Paul had to cancel his appearance at TBCC…

While it’s unfortunate that Bettany won’t be able to make an appearance for congoers, this could be good news for Marvel fans eager to see what Phase 4 has in store. As of right now, all of Phase 4’s projects have been delayed, but this report may indicate that Marvel Studios has plans to move forward — and soon.

And if WandaVision is preparing to start filming again, it’s possible other Disney+ projects, like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki will also pick up again. So far, there’s no word on how the delays will impact the release dates for these series. But, with any luck, more details will emerge on that front in the near future.
