People may be conflicted about the Snyder Cut, but hearing Ben Affleck talk about Zack Snyder’s vision for Justice League has left us with hope — and questions.

Whether or not your feelings on the Snyder Cut are mixed, at least the cast seems to be excited that Zack Snyder’s vision is finally getting its chance to shine — and that includes Ben Affleck. The Batman star sent in a personal message to Kevin Smith’s Fat Man Beyond  podcast about the situation, stating that he was excited for the Snyder Cut and loved that version of the movie.

Affleck’s statement is as follows:

"“I’m very excited that Zack’s getting a chance to finally see his vision realized. I think it’s a great thing. I’m really excited for the fans to get to see it. And I want to say thank you to the fans because it was their enthusiasm and their passion that made it happen. Without fan support I don’t think it ever would have happened. I love Zack and I love his version of the movie and I look forward to everyone getting a chance to see it.”"

Here’s the thing: There is a lot that Snyder’s actual cut has to make up for. When watching Justice League, not only is the story a mess, but it also does terrible by characters like Wonder Woman and Cyborg. With so many properties out in the world surrounding Batman and Superman and even the Flash, it felt like a stab to the heart watching as Cyborg’s story grew increasingly boring or watching the Amazons die and Diana Prince be diminished to a motherly role.

So, yes, I am also excited to see what Snyder would bring to the series, much like Affleck apparently is, but I do have reservations. Will he fix the very Joss Whedon-esque storylines? How much is going to be retconned? And, most importantly, will it be enough to make Justice League a movie that fans will want to actually revisit?

The entire situation surrounding the Snyder Cut is varied and complicated, and being able to see what the movie did hold for characters we know and love is going to be exciting, but also … maybe upsetting. After all, we know what actually happened with the original film. Let’s hope this makes up for that somewhat.
