Celebrating Star Wars Day just got a whole lot easier: The Rise of Skywalker is arriving on Disney+ on May 4, two months earlier than expected.

The Force will definitely be with us on Star Wars Day this year, as fans will now be able to watch the entire Skywalker Saga on Disney+ beginning on May 4. That’s right, The Rise of Skywalker will be available to stream on the platform from that Monday, arriving two months earlier than expected. Could we ask for a better way to celebrate the Star Wars franchise?

This isn’t the first early release to arrive on Disney+ since the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis began. With the company’s blockbusters delayed, efforts to ramp up content on its streaming service seem to have doubled. Not only did Frozen 2 and Onward also make early appearances on Disney+, but Artemis Fowl, which was originally supposed to have a theatrical release, is now heading straight to the platform on June 12.

It’s a smart strategy; after all, most of us are eager to find new content to consume while staying indoors. And The Rise of Skywalker isn’t the only Star Wars-related addition Disney+ subscribers have to look forward to on May 4. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, a docuseries that will detail the creation of The Mandalorian, is also hitting the streamer that day — along with the highly anticipated series finale of The Clone Wars.

With so much content headed their way, Star Wars fans will want to make sure they’ve got a clear schedule and plenty of snacks prepared for May 4. Given that The Rise of Skywalker is the last film in the series, they could even make a week of it. (Seriously, this is the perfect excuse to binge-watch the eight previous films during the week leading up to the fanmade holiday.)

dark. Next. How could The Mandalorian change in seasons 2 & 3?
