Patton Oswalt’s video of his daughter finishing Harry Potter is what we need right now

While it isn’t a new video, it is beautiful to see that Patton Oswalt shared the Harry Potter series with his daughter and right now, why not do it with your own family?

Patton Oswalt is a nerd. This much we know. Whether it’s doing a Star Wars filibuster on Parks and Recreation or tweeting about his favorite thing to watch, he loves to talk about his favorite things. So when he shared a video of him finishing reading the Harry Potter series with his daughter, it was both heartwarming and a little predictable.

The video in question was posted back in January but that doesn’t mean it isn’t important right now.

In the midst of everything going on in the world, wouldn’t it be fun to do this with those we have at home? Or even if we’re alone, just going back to Hogwarts and seeing the magic for a moment, it at least lets us just escape for a little while.

While I am but a single woman with no kids, I can’t wait to share this series with my own someday. Mainly because I remember the joy that it gave me when I was growing up. I would think about going to Hogwarts and getting to see Harry and his friends and that magic is so important to me so why not share it with others?

It’d be a fun thing to do now, revisiting the series or sharing it with someone else so maybe that’s what we can all do right now to bring a little joy to the world.
