Would Daniel Radcliffe ever consider coming back to the Harry Potter series?
Many Harry Potter fans are anxiously awaiting the return of the Golden Trio to the series again but Daniel Radcliffe isn’t exactly on board with joining the series again.
Daniel Radcliffe has had a great career outside of the Harry Potter series. Ranging from theater work to comedy and horror and beyond, Radcliffe has kept himself busy since Harry Potter wrapped. That doesn’t mean that we, as Potter fans, don’t want to see him back at Hogwarts once more.
The problem? Radcliffe isn’t exactly ready to join Hermione and Ron on their magic adventures again. Talking with Variety, Radcliffe was posed the question about Harry Potter coming into the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series as a flash-forward. Radcliffe’s response to whether or not he’d come back as Harry?
"I don’t think so. I don’t like say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us. I’m happy to keep it that way. I like what my life is now. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now. And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance."
The thing is, I don’t really blame him. Daniel Radcliffe has constantly been combating the idea that he’s just Harry Potter so now that he’s making a career for himself, doing work he’s proud of and branching out of the series that made him a household name, it isn’t surprising that he doesn’t really want to go rushing back.
Hopefully, someday, we’ll get to see Daniel wear the Hogwarts robes once more but, until then, we’ll just have to watch the rest of his work and support Radcliffe that way.
