At this year’s C2E2, Mark Ruffalo hinted that he’s in early talks to make an appearance in Marvel’s forthcoming She-Hulk series.

Other streaming services may have impressive catalogs, but Disney+ has a Hulk — or at least, it probably will soon. Mark Ruffalo, who plays the big green guy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hinted at a possible appearance in the platform’s forthcoming She-Hulk series while at C2E2. Speaking at the convention, the actor suggested that he’s in early talks to have some type of role in the show.

Of course, nothing’s set in stone just yet — when Ruffalo mentioned talks, he pointed out they’re in the preliminary stages. Still, it would make sense to have him reappear as Bruce Banner and the Hulk, particularly if he’ll be passing the torch to She-Hulk at some point in the MCU’s future.

Unlike Chris Evans’ Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, the other half of the main Avengers team didn’t get a proper or emotional sendoff during Avengers: Endgame last spring. One can assume it’s because Thor and Hulk haven’t departed from the MCU just yet — but the latter also isn’t confirmed to be returning any time soon.

While Chris Hemsworth will be reprising his role as Thor for Thor Love and Thunder, the future of Ruffalo’s Hulk remains unclear. The actor has hinted on several occasions that he’s not done with the MCU just yet, and honestly, She-Hulk would be the perfect place for him to make a comeback. If that does wind up being his final appearance, it’ll hold some significance, welcoming a new Hulk character into the fold. And if not? Well, he’ll make a decent mentor at least.

With a possible 2022 release date, there’s no rush to confirm that Ruffalo will, in fact, show up in She-Hulk. The details about the series are minimal right now, though it is expected to begin filming in August this year. That said, the actress playing She-Hulk hasn’t even been confirmed yet, despite rumors that Alison Brie would be taking on the role.

Until any official announcements are made, we’ll be waiting to hear more news about both Hulk and She-Hulk — and hoping that we’ll get to see them in action together at least once before Ruffalo’s time in the MCU is up.
