Harry Potter and the Cursed Child heading to Tokyo in 2022

After successes in London, the United States, and Australia, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is on the move again. Look out, Tokyo, it’s coming for you!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has succeeded in various parts of the world. It’s only natural that it’s going to continue expanding, and Tokyo is the next city on the list. You’ll have to wait a couple of years, though.
The critically-acclaimed production will head to TBS Akasaka ACT Theater in Tokyo in the summer of 2022. It’s only the second time there will be a non-English production of this play, and it marks the first time it’s heading to Asia. It’s going to be a special time for the theater, as the production’s opening will mark 70 years for the theater.

It only makes sense to continue the expansion of the production. It’s already the most-awarded play in all of theater history with six Tony Awards and nine Olivier Awards. Despite not all Harry Potter fans viewing it as cannon, it continues to bring in audiences around the world, with many locations asking for the production to make it to them.
Tokyo’s production will be the seventh production of the play around the world, according to Forbes. Right now, there are only four other productions open but Hamburg and Toronto are coming in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Why has Tokyo been chosen as the next location? It’s all thanks to the dedicated Wizarding World fans in the country. It will hopefully start the next expansion of the production along this stretch of the world.
So far, just the production has been confirmed. There’s no word on who will play the various roles or an exact opening date. Stay tuned for more information.
