If you were hoping to find out who Amelia’s baby’s father is during this week’s Grey’s Anatomy, prepare to be disappointed. Again.

Well, it happened. No, we didn’t find out if Link is the father of Amelia’s baby or not. But we did get confirmation that Catherine has, in fact, gotten the revenge she wanted.

Step 1: Buy a hospital.

Step 2: Erase your husband’s job security because he called you out for being a terrible person.

Step 3: TBD.

Catherine Fox may have gotten her 45 minutes of payback, but she should have known it wouldn’t last. Richard and the rest of his Grey Sloan “family” have now fully dragged Tom into this Godzilla-scale drama (see what I did there?), telling him that if he didn’t give them all their jobs, they were all going to quit.

You do not want to be on the receiving end of Catherine Fox’s fury. Clearly, he had no choice but to oblige.

But that’s not really the drama we all showed up to watch unfold, now is it? Sure, we’re now sitting with the fact that Levi and Nico probably aren’t going to last, and Jolex is falling apart, and let’s try not to think about MerLuca right now. She can do better.

No. What we’re all really here for is the Big Reveal that didn’t happen. Which we all should have seen not coming, but hey, you have to get your hopes up about something 16 seasons in, right?

We still don’t know who the father is.

At this point, it’s not wild to assume we may never know.

They teased us. They told us we’d find out. And we believed them. Why do we always believe them?

It was all a lie. They weren’t going to reveal the identity of the father this week. For all we know, they won’t reveal his true identity next week either, or the week after. They’ll keep this going until the end of the season. They won’t tell us next season, either!

And they would get away with it, too. If post-episode discussions (and reviews) are any indication, despite the fact that almost everyone seems to dislike the Amelia-Link-Owen love triangle situation, it’s all anyone can talk about.

Which means we’re all just going to keep coming back until we get the answers we want.

Well played, Grey’s Anatomy. Well played.

Admittedly, it’s tough to go through periods in the Grey’s timeline when zero couples are happy. At this very moment, Bailey and Warren are mourning, Meredith and DeLuca are confused, Jo and Alex aren’t speaking, Nico and Levi are basically over, and who even knows where this baby drama is going to leave Amelia and Link. Or Amelia and Owen. Owen and Link? Anything could happen at this point.

Richard and Catherine? Nope. Jackson and Maggie? Nope. I’d say toss in an adorable elderly couple and give one of them a terminal illness just to give us some icing on this sadness cake, but they already did that. AGAIN.

Someone needs a happy ending.

Give one to Tom.

Doesn’t matter who he ends up with. Just give him someone good. Give us all a reason to smile again. Please.
