Escape from Pretoria is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in April 2020

Escape from Pretoria hasn’t even made it to theaters yet, and we already have a DVD and Blu-ray release date. Here’s when Daniel Radcliffe’s movie is out.
Daniel Radcliffe has a big year for movies. And those movies are out at the start of the year. Guns Akimbo is out at the end of this month and then just a week later we’ll get to watch Escape from Pretoria. But if you only have the time to see one in theaters, you’ll be happy to hear Escape from Pretoria already has a DVD release date.
Sure, you want to support the Harry Potter actor by watching in theaters, but the movies based on a true story is only getting a limited release. So, it’s a good thing that just a month after release, it will be on DVD and Blu-ray. You only have to wait until Apr. 7, 2020, according to our sister site Amazon Adviser.

It’s not often that movies are released just a month after the theatrical release. Is this a bad sign for the expectations at the Box Office? Well, admittedly yes, but it could also be part of a bigger plan. With more people looking to own movies at home or wait for streaming, the early DVD release could help to cover the budget for the movie.
Escape from Pretoria isn’t one of the most highly anticipated movies outside of the Harry Potter world. We want to see it to watch Daniel Radcliffe. Others may not have heard of it. It’s not had a lot of promotion and certainly isn’t a widely known topic, although we think that it should be. So, it’s probably a smart move releasing on DVD a month after releasing in the theaters.

As for Escape from Pretoria on Digital, this is likely to happen at the same time as the DVD and Blu-ray release date. It hasn’t been confirmed yet.
