Fiona Shaw joining Baptiste for second and possibly final season
By Callum Gunn
If you’re looking to see yet another side to Harry Potter’s Fiona Shaw, you’ll want to check out Baptiste Season 2. It’s possibly the last season, too!
While you’re waiting for Killing Eve Season 3, you’ll get a chance to see Fiona Shaw in another TV crime drama. She’s been confirmed for Baptiste Season 2, which may be the final season of the series.
BBC has officially confirmed the second season of the series that is a spin-off of The Missing. The original series introduced Tchéky Karyo’s Julien Baptiste, a detective who would stop at nothing to figure out some of the darkest, twistiest abductions. Now he’s being called in to help find the family of a British ambassador.

That ambassador will be played by Shaw. Best known as Harry Potter‘s Aunt Petunia, Shaw will take on the role of Ambassador Emma Chambers who goes on a vacation with her family, only to end up being the one left behind. Just who has taken her family and why?
All they were doing was skiing in the beautiful Hungarian alps. Now she’s in the middle of an investigation into Budapest’s creepy underground. Baptiste will need to navigate the police force, which routinely proves to be untrustworthy.

Baptiste Season 2 will focus on two distinct timelines, connecting back to The Missing in some elements. It’s going to be a season everyone wants to see, as it could be a goodbye to the character we’ve come to know and love. BBC hasn’t confirmed it but did mention it to Deadline that this could be the end.
Filming for the second season will begin in February in Budapest.
Due to the setup, it will be possible to watch the second season without knowing too much of the first season. It’s like an anthology series, keeping the crime drama storylines contained. Baptiste’s storyline is the one that crosses over, but is relatively easy to follow if you just want to see Fiona Shaw in action.
