Wizarding World of Harry Potter is possibly getting a lot more interactive
By Callum Gunn
Ever wished you could leave the entire muggle world behind? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is potentially going to bring that ability.
There are many times that we wish we could have the abilities Harry and his friends have. There are times we want to leave the muggle world behind. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida is possibly bringing that with new technology.
Nothing is confirmed just yet, but Insider shares that there is a patent out for technology that could make it possible. The tech will allow guests to interact with real elements of the park through their wands. Think about floating feathers and more with just a flick of your wrist.

The Universal Park already offers interactive wands. They allow guests to interact with certain elements, but this new technology is set to take things to a whole new level.
The new technology is called “System and Method for tracking a passive Wand and Actuating an Effect Based on a Detected Wand Path” in the patent, according to Narcity. That is definitely a mouthful, so I’m sure it will be shortened to something else when it comes out. But what it means is that even your own non-interactive wands will work within the environment once the technology is implemented.

When is this going to happen? That’s unknown right now. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter isn’t sharing too much, or even just how much you’ll be able to do. What it does mean is you’ll feel like a real witch or wizard in the park.
