The Good Place has plenty of work to do before its finale. Can the team get along with the Judge and the Bad Place demons to implement their new idea?

The Good Place has decided it doesn’t make sense to reset humanity starting from the very beginning. Well, it’s less that it doesn’t make sense and more that the Soul Squad was able to give everyone a viable solution to the afterlife conundrum.

Here is the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Mondays, Am I Right?,” courtesy of NBC.

"“Michael runs some tests and Chidi gets some good advice from Jason.”"

The only strange thing about this is that they’re not so much focused on the point system anymore, but rather what follows when a person dies. Which feels like a bit of a heel-turn for the show, dropping an issue they’ve harped on for well over a season.

But in the larger picture, it makes sense. They didn’t have enough time to reassess the point value of every single action or non-action. Or dig into the minutiae of buying ethical products made unethically and all of the ramifications behind modern-day consumerism.

So it’ll be interesting to see where The Good Place takes us over these last few episodes, with everyone in agreement on this new plan for the afterlife, with or without the amount of penis flattening that would make a demon happy.

Obviously, with four episodes left, it’s not going to be a cakewalk into town. For as much as Shawn wants to keep battling Michael, you can bet the Bad Place will throw in as many problems and issues as possible.

And what if the Judge decides that it’s too much work? She didn’t seem too excited to change her ruling at the end of the last episode. If it ends up being too much work or taking too long, there’s always the possibility that she’ll pull the plug and we start over from scratch.
