It’s interesting to see a nice mix of old and new television shows. Nominees returning this year include Shadowhunters‘ final season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Supergirl (Supercorp rising?). Meanwhile, shows like Batwoman and The L Word: Generation Q are only halfway through their inaugural seasons.

New streaming service Apple TV+ scored a nomination for Hailee Steinfeld’s Dickinson, while One Day at a Time finally got more of the recognition it deserves (we’re still not over Netflix cancelling it). The controversial yet compelling Euphoria also scored its first nomination, thanks to Zendaya and company’s gritty and frank portrayal of what its like to be a teenager in the age of social media. Sadly, its bittersweet to see Rainbow Rowell’s stint on Runaways be nominated the same year the Hulu TV series is canceled.
