Why Maggie Smith didn’t feel satisfied with her Harry Potter role

Maggie Smith is well-known for a wide range of roles. One of those is McGonagall in Harry Potter, but it wasn’t one of her most satisfying roles.
Even before Harry Potter, we knew of Maggie Smith. With a career spanning decades, she’s made her mark in the world. And she certainly made her mark as Minerva McGonagall. Although, while we found her one of the most awesome witches in the movies, Smith’s role wasn’t the most satisfying of her career.
It’s not that she didn’t like the movies, according to The Daily Mail. Instead, it’s all linked to the amount of acting she needed to do. There wasn’t too much of it, she explained. Understandably, as an actress, she’d want to put her talents to work, and we know she has some excellent acting skills.

Harry Potter wasn’t the only production she didn’t find satisfying. It turns out playing the dowager countess in Downton Abbey had the same effect. And there this was one of our favorite roles of hers outside of the Wizarding World.
However, while not satisfied, she was grateful for the roles. She just has to be honest about her feelings of two iconic roles that she’s had. So I guess if we ever get to meet her, we should expect similar personalities to McGonagall and the dowager countess?

At the same time as sharing her lack of satisfaction when it came to the roles, she also admitted that she probably wouldn’t have gotten into the industry in today’s world if she was starting out. She’s not a big fan of all the nudity!
