Harry Potter secrets were nearly released from one mistake
By Callum Gunn
The Harry Potter movies were shrouded in secrecy even from book fans when filming. Warwick Davis says that almost wasn’t the case because of one mistake.
It’s been years since the Harry Potter movies were filmed but we’re still learning some secrets. One of those secrets is that the movies nearly didn’t remain a surprise. Warwick Davis says that one mistake almost let the cat out of the bag.
Apparently, one of the scripts was left in a taxi. A genuine Harry Potter script left behind. Davis didn’t share who made the mistake (no point naming and shaming for a mistake that had no consequences in the end) but did share that there was a big search for the script to make sure that there were no leaks.

Things have certainly changed over the years for those who get scripts on projects shrouded in secrecy. He says A Star Wars Story scripts came on a tablet and there was a security passcode to use each time. There was no chance that someone could accidentally get the scripts because they were left behind in a taxi.

Couldn’t someone photograph the screen and share it? Well, it turns out that the screens couldn’t be photographed either. Star Wars really wanted to keep all secrets out. Maybe Fantastic Beasts could follow that tip to avoid another Harry Potter mistake.
