Star Wars: 5 pieces of Baby Yoda merch we’d love to see this holiday season
It’s official: Baby Yoda merchandise will be hitting shelves this holiday season. But what sorts of items will be available? Well, here’s what we’d love to see.
Looking for a gift for the Star Wars fan in your life? Well, you’re in luck. According to CNBC, Disney will be releasing merchandise based off of The Mandalorian‘s cutest character — yes, we’re talking about Baby Yoda — just in time for the holiday season. And who wouldn’t love to find some version of Baby Yoda sitting beneath their Christmas tree?
According to reports, apparel and accessories featuring Baby Yoda will become available everywhere from the Disney Store to Hot Topic to online outlets. In fact, Amazon already has two T-Shirts available for purchase — though more merch is expected to drop leading up to the end of the year.
It’s unclear exactly what kind of Baby Yoda items we’ll get. (Does it matter? You know we’ll buy anything with that face on it.) But here are some of the things we’d like to see hit stores over the next month or so.
A Baby Yoda plush
Let’s start with the most obvious piece of Baby Yoda merch that Disney should release: a stuffed animal. Given how adorable the little alien is, you can’t help but want to snuggle it — and with a plush, Star Wars fans will be able to do just that. A stuffed animal would be a perfect gift for younger kids who love the Star Wars universe, but even some adults would want to pick this up. (Hint: It’s us. We’re the adults.)
T-Shirts or sweatshirts
What fan doesn’t love to wear their fandom on their sleeve — or more accurately, their torso — by purchasing T-Shirts or sweatshirts based on their favorite franchise? And a Baby Yoda tee would certainly be a conversation starter. Not only would you be thrilled every time you wore it and looked in the mirror, but the people around you would also get some joy out of it.
It’s a win-win situation for everyone, really.
A mug
Waking up in the morning is hard, but coffee makes it easier for a lot of people. And you know what would make your morning coffee even more uplifting? Getting to look at Baby Yoda every time you take a sip of it. With that in mind, putting the character on a mug seems like an ingenious idea. We’d certainly buy it.
A Funko Pop
Funko! Pop figures for The Mandalorian have already hit shelves, but there is one person noticeably missing from the lineup: Baby Yoda. This is likely because the character needed to be kept secret until the premiere released. But now that we all know he (she?) exists, it seems inevitable that Baby Yoda will become a Funko Pop.
Socks
Speaking of getting snuggly with Baby Yoda, why not put the little dude on a cozy pair of socks? Whether you’re buying gifts for others or yourself, you can’t go wrong with a solid pair of socks — and what’s more awesome than keeping your feet warm and getting to see Baby Yoda?
