If there is one thing that Riverdale does really well, it is drama — especially the kind that revolves around family. And in “Hereditary,” we got plenty.

It wouldn’t be Riverdale without drama, especially family drama. And no one does family drama quite as well as the Lodges.

With both Hiram and Hermione out of prison and a new sibling for Veronica in town, it makes sense that the family is dealing with a lot. Not only is Veronica coping with the return of the father she tried to get imprisoned, but she just learned that she has a half-sister she never knew about.

In a move that really doesn’t surprise any of us, it looks like Hiram has Hermione convinced that they belong together. And we all know how much that is annoying Veronica.

Seriously, the Lodges are such a mess that they make Riverdale more entertaining than we ever could have hoped for. Plus, we can’t wait to see how this relationship revival will play out, as Hiram and Hermione have a very contentious past.

But it wasn’t just the Lodges swamped in drama, as Betty decided she wanted answers about her brother Charles. And that meant visiting a certain imprisoned, fake brother: Chic.

With Chic and Charles playing a game that Betty, Alice, and FP have no idea about, this episode revealed a few more secrets about the long-lost son of our favorite Riverdale couple (Alice and FP). And, as it turns out, he has a dark past that he is definitely hiding from people. As an added drama bonus, we also learned that he and Chic are still an item, and I know I did not see that coming.

Seriously, I don’t know what game Charles is playing, but I am definitely worried about Alice and Betty. They already have their hands full with drama and emotional baggage, and the last thing they need is for things to fall apart again.

I can’t wait to see how the Charles and Chic situation plays out, especially in the way it impacts Betty and her life. After all, she knows something is wrong, but since she can’t figure out what it is, we already know she is going to look like the bad gal while she tries to figure things out.

While there was other family drama throughout “Hereditary,” Riverdale left us wanting more in the best way possible. We can’t wait for Veronica to go off on her new sister and her parents. And we certainly want to see exactly what Charles has in store for his family.
