The second season of You has an official release date — and it’s hitting Netflix just in time for the holidays!

Netflix has plenty of holiday dramas and rom-coms to keep us entertained this holiday season, but the streaming service will also have something a bit more sinister for those who prefer a good thriller over a feel-good film or series. The company announced December 26 as the official release date for the second season of You — and we can’t think of a better way to spend the last few days of 2019 than binge-watching the next installment in this horrifying adaptation of Caroline Kepnes’ novel.

Of course, the new season will take stalker Joe Goldberg’s story beyond the plot of the book, showing viewers what became of him after he murdered his girlfriend, Beck, during season one. Judging by the end of the season, he got away with his crime — but given his tendency to become obsessed with the women he dates, it’s only a matter of time before Joe finds another victim. In fact, the first season finale set him up to fall for a woman named Love — and to have a run-in with his ex-girlfriend, Candace, who most viewers had previously assumed dead.

Penn Badgley will be returning to play Joe during the show’s second season, and if his performance is anything like that of the first, fans are in for plenty of disturbing moments. Candace will add an interesting element to the story too, especially given her quest to seek vengeance against Joe. Will he be stalker and stalked during the new episodes?

The new season of You will also see a change of setting, with Joe moving from New York to Los Angeles. We suppose it is a bad idea to remain in a city where you’ve murdered multiple people. But sunny LA is unlikely to stop Joe from repeating his mistakes on the other side of the country. He doesn’t exactly seem like the type to change his ways…

All 10 episodes of the second season will drop on Netflix on December 26, so fans will be able to watch the series as quickly as they’d like. And with so many twists and turns, many of us will be making good use of any holidays off to watch as many new episodes as possible.
