The Good Place season 4 episode 7 preview: The final day has arrived
The Good Place jumps forward another six months to the final few days of the experiment. Can Eleanor and the team save humanity?
The Good Place does enjoy giving us fun time-jumps. Even last week’s episode took us halfway through the experiment in an offhand comment.
And this week’s episode looks like we’re going to the end of the experiment. Quite literally–the very last day that the Soul Squad can save humanity.
Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Help Is Other People,” courtesy of NBC:
"“On the last day of the experiment, Chidi is faced with one final ethical dilemma.”"
Chidi is always faced with ethical dilemmas. But does it revolve around his fate or the fate of the others? These four test subjects don’t know they’re test subjects. There’s probably not any threat of “The Bad Place is coming for you,” unless they try to spring that on Brent.
With how much happened in last week’s episode–how much fell apart, that is–it’s going to be interesting to see where things stand six months later. Did everyone forgive Brent? Did Brent realize he was wrong and use Michael’s guidance about golf to make himself a better person?
Or did someone figure out they’re in the Bad Place–err, an experiment to save them from the Bad Place?
Or, to call back to The Good Place‘s first season finale, does Chidi’s ethical dilemma end with him realizing they might not be in The Good Place after all?
One thing is for sure: This last experiment didn’t last the entire fourth season. We still have half a dozen shows left. Which means something’s going to happen…
Or we’ll watch our four favorite humans get tortured in the Bad Place for the back half of the season.
