The Mandalorian is just a couple of weeks away, and the second and final trailer for the series dropped earlier this week. What did we learn from it?

The first long-form series set in the Star Wars universe premieres in a couple of weeks, and the second — and likely final — trailer for The Mandalorian has us more excited than ever to see what Disney Plus has to offer in the way of a new Star Wars narrative. Not only will this be the franchise’s first foray into television, but it’s also the first story that veers away from the Skywalker family narrative.

The second trailer for The Mandalorian dropped on Monday evening, and while it does show a lot of footage we’ve already seen during the first look at the series, it also highlights a lot of new action sequences. There are also new voiceovers to consider, giving fans a bit more context when it comes to the overall plot of the series.

So, what did we learn from watching the second trailer for The Mandalorian?

There’s definitely been political unrest since the revolution.

Like the previous trailer, this one also opens with Stormtrooper helmets mounted on spikes, but fans get a new voiceover with the image. “Is the world more peaceful since the revolution?” Warner Herzog’s character asks, and his tone implies that the answer is a resounding no. And while we’d already assumed that, but it’s always nice to know for sure.

We may come to understand the history of the Mandalorian people.

After his comment about the revolution, Herzog goes on to say, “It is a shame that your people suffered.” Assuming he’s speaking to The Mandalorian here — and it seems that way — he might be referring to the people on Mandalore. As YouTube channel Star Wars Explained points out, the Mandalorian people were under Imperial rule and beginning to  fight it during Star Wars Rebels. Could we see the aftermath of their own revolution during the series?

Of course, he also concludes this voiceover by proclaiming, “Bounty hunting is a complicated profession.” So, could he be suggesting that bounty hunters have suffered since the Empire fell? After all, a peaceful world — or galaxy — may not bode well for individuals whose livelihood depends on people paying to have their enemies delivered to them.

Cara Dune and The Mandalorian will probably be working together.

Gina Carano’s character, Cara Dune, has received plenty of hype leading up to the series, but we haven’t seen or heard much of her in the trailers. We still don’t get a ton of her during this new one, but we do see her engaging in what looks like half a handshake and half a high five with The Mandalorian himself.

We also get a shot of her fighting later on, and it’s hard to tell for sure, but it seems like the two are fighting side by side. We know that Dune is a “rebel shock trooper turned mercenary” — and the two working together could bring all kinds of twists and turns with it.

The Mandalorian really is the “best in the Parsec.”

In a later voiceover, presumably before Herzog’s character offers Pascal’s some type of bounty-hunting job, he tells The Mandalorian, “They said you were the best in the Parsec.” It’s high praise, but judging by all of the action scenes we get during the new trailer, it’s also the truth. The Mandalorian is taking names in this new trailer, and it looks like his enemies are going to have a very difficult time taking him down.

Pedro Pascal can speak!

Anyone who has seen footage from The Mandalorian has likely been wondering whether they’ll ever hear Pedro Pascal speak. And, during this trailer, we finally do! At the very end, after being surrounded by Stormtroopers — and after a voiceover that says, “They are waiting for you” — Pascal finally gives us two words: “Yeah? Good.”

It’s not much, but it speaks volumes about his character’s confidence in his fighting abilities. And after all the fighting sequences we see here, we are so ready to see more of him.
