New Harry Potter game is in the works and we may never get to play it

There is a new Harry Potter game in development Wizarding World fans, a game that may never make its way to our devices. Here’s hoping it does though.

If Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite wasn’t doing it enough for you. The new Wizarding Wold game currently in development might fill that void that needs filling, but with the game currently earmarked for China and China alone, fans might need to go hunting for another game or consider a move across the world.

Reported by comicbook.com, the new game is being created by the Chinese games company NetEase, who are working in conjunction with Warner Bros., and there is no intention, at the time of writing, to release the game outside of China.

The game is being called Harry Potter: Magic Awakened or The Magic Awakening, the game is being developed for both iOS and Android devices. It will be a card game of some sorts, with elements of role play infused within.

It is to be set after the events that took place in the Second Wizarding World War and players who take part in the game will start as first-year Hogwarts students. A similar starting point players found themselves in the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery.

According to NetEase developers, players can expect to see their favorite characters, magical creatures, and spells to be featured in the game. They are also describing unique visuals are on the way for those who take part.

It all sounds very promising. Fingers crossed the game will not stay in the Chinese market and will be released globally, because we can all do with a little more Harry Potter in our lives.
