The Trial of the Chicago 7 starring Eddie Redmayne sets 2020 release date

Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne is set to make his way to the big screen in 2020 as The Trial of the Chicago 7 sets an official release date.
Fans of the Fantastic Beasts franchise who are waiting to see Eddie Redmayne, a.k.a Newt Scamander, on the big screen will get to do so very soon, but it won’t be in the next installment of the Wizarding Wold franchise. It will be in The Trial of the Chicago 7.
According to Deadline, The Trial of the Chicago 7 has been penciled in for a limited release in September 2020. It is the scheduled for a worldwide release in theaters on October 2, 2020.

Wizarding World fans will notice this is over a year from when Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to be released in theaters. Redmayne’s involvement in The Trial of the Chicago 7 will not affect filming of Fantastic Beasts 3.
So, you don’t have to worry about another delay.
Redmayne is actually expected to have finished production on The Trial of the Chicago 7 by the time production for Fantastic Beasts 3 is expected to start; sometime in February 2020.

Other actors expected to star alongside Redmayne are Michael Keaton, William Hurt, and J.C. MacKenzie. The Trial of the Chicago 7 is based on the trails of 1969 where seven defendants had been charged following the counter cultural protests tat took place in during the Democratic National Convention in 1968. Redmayne will play Tom Hayden, a political activist in this story that captured the nation and started the beginning of a movement that could have resulted in dire consequences of the U.S. Government.
