During NYCC Ralph Fiennes, who played Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter franchise, confessed how he thinks the story about The Boy Who Lived is wrapping up.

Everything in this world, including Harry Potter, must come to an end. The story about a young boy wizard and his friends at the magical school of Hogwarts has impacted so many lives and became a worldwide phenomenon unlike anything we could have imagined.

Ralph Fiennes, who portrayed the role of the dark wizard Lord Voldemort in the franchise, thinks J.K. Rowling is closing the doors on the story that started the Wizarding World franchise. A story that encompassed seven books, eight movies, and a on stage production.

While attending NYCC to promote the upcoming movie The King’s Man. Fiennes told comicbook.com about his belief concerning the Harry Potter franchise.

"“I think JK Rowing… My sense is, I don’t know this, is that she feels that’s done and she’s developing [the Wizarding World] with those other films.”"

More from Harry Potter

To be clear, Fiennes isn’t saying the Wizarding World franchise is possibly coming to an end. He is saying the Harry Potter part of the overall franchise is coming to an end. Stories will continue, such as the Fantastic Beasts franchise currently being worked on.

This news is disappointing to hear if you are hoping for a Harry Potter TV series. Because if it is true, all the hopes fans have had about a potential TV series are gone.

Of course, Fiennes could be completely wrong, or equally, be right today, but wrong tomorrow. Who knows? We will just have to wait and see what the future brings. The overall message though is not to go holding out for anything Harry Potter related. Wizarding World related yes, but not The Boy Who Lived.
