The long-awaited trailer for Rick and Morty’s fourth season is here, and we’re already doubling over with laughter. Here are our favorite moments from the new footage.

It’s been far too long since Rick and Morty fans immersed themselves in the ridiculous shenanigans of the show’s main characters, something the new season 4 trailer points out before diving into scenes from the new episodes. And if we’re being honest, it looks like the new season was worth waiting for — there were plenty of moments from the trailer that already had us doubling over with laughter.

While season 4 will definitely take viewers on new adventures with Rick and Morty, it looks like the new episodes will also hold true to the show’s iconic humor. After watching the trailer, we can’t wait to dive back into this world. And we don’t have long to wait!

Honestly, Rick and Morty keep us engaged and laughing no matter what they’re up to. That alone is sure to make season 4 worth the watch, but these moments from the trailer truly have us excited to see what the new episodes have in store.

The Morty-gets-a-dragon experiment

The phrase “the Morty-gets-a-dragon experiment” should be enough to pique any Rick and Morty fan’s interest, but the fact that the Smith family’s living room is on fire in the trailer suggests that we’ll be seeing the disastrous effects of this experiment during the new season — and we do love when Rick and Morty manage to make a mess of things. (Bonus points if there are dragons involved.)

Also, Rick’s insistence that he’ll slay the dragon because “I always slay it, queen”? Priceless.

The Meeseeks!

The Meeseeks are back in the new Rick and Morty trailer, and they look way too happy to be destroying the city around them. Fans who enjoyed the Meeseeks episode back in season 1 will be excited to see these fan favorites return, and judging by their surroundings, they’re bringing the chaos with them.

That Doctor Strange reference

Marvel fans will appreciate the nod to Doctor Strange during the trailer, when Rick uses his lab coat to fend off a monster, throwing it at the beast and letting the coat do the rest. He even says “rip off Doctor Strange” when he uses it, and it’s clear that the coat’s sentient movement is based off of Doctor Strange’s cape. With Marvel crossovers, how can we not be pumped about season 4?

“I’m usually around people who die faster.”

Rick’s complete lack of emotion — even when it comes to his own family members — is part of what makes Rick and Morty so comical to watch. And we get a firsthand look at Rick’s callous nature while he and Morty are flying in a spaceship. Morty appears to have something wrong with him physically, and he exclaims that he’s dying — to which Rick says, “People who are really dying don’t keep bringing it up.”

Rick’s statement is an eyebrow raiser, and Morty questions whether it’s true. “I don’t know, I’m usually around people who die faster,” Rick responds. And really, these moments are why we love him.
