Wizarding World fans got a magical behind the scenes look at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and more during NYCC 2019.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child returned to the stage at NYCC 2019 for a magical behind the scenes look at the Wizarding World production. Fans witnessed never before seen footage of the production, live demonstrations from the cast, and more.
Taking place in the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, October 3. James Snyder, who currently plays the role of Harry Potter in the Broadway production, took to the stage to moderate the panel. Along with Snyder, movement director Benjamin Wheelwright and James Brown III took to the stage, along with several other members of the Broadway cast.

Fans were able to witness first hand at how some of the scenes from the production, such as making objects disappear and reappear, are done. How the actors are able to make it look as though some invisible force is making them move involuntary. Some pyrotechnics, a first for NYCC, and how the various different departments collaborate with one another on order to make moments, such as the actors appear from a fire place without the use of CGI.
After the behind the scenes part of the panel, it was time for the Q+A session. Fans had put questions to the Wizarding World production via social media and the cast took to the challenge of answering them. As you can imagine, some of the answers made you go “awe,” while others made you buckle over in laughter.
